Paediatric Occupational Therapy Service on Sydney's Northern Beaches
Helping children build confidence, independence, skills and participation in everyday life

Hello, I am Alison Francis, a paediatric occupational therapist on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
I support children and their families to develop the skills they need to participate more fully in everyday activities at home, school and in the community. My approach is family-centred, practical and tailored to each child's unique strengths, interests and goals.
Whether your child is experiencing developmental delays, sensory processing differences, motor challenges, emotional regulation difficulties or has a diagnosed disability, I work collaboratively with families to create meaningful and achievable outcomes.
My approach is rooted in developing strong partnerships with children, parents, caregivers, educators and other treating professionals. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, engaged and supported. Therapy is play-based and neuro-affirming, whilst maintaining a strong focus on skill acquisition.
I provide assessment and intervention for children experiencing:
-
Developmental delays
-
Fine motor difficulties
-
Gross motor challenges
-
Sensory processing differences
-
Emotional regulation difficulties
-
Attention and executive functioning challenges
-
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
-
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
-
Visual perceptual delays
-
School readiness concerns
-
Independence and daily living skill development
About Me:
I graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (First Class Honours) in 2011 and was awarded the University Medal for academic excellence.
I have worked with children and families across a variety of settings, supporting children with a broad range of developmental, physical, sensory and neurodevelopmental needs.
As a parent of two young boys myself, I understand both the joys and challenges that come with raising children. This perspective helps me bring empathy, flexibility, and a genuine understanding of family life into my work.
Outside of occupational therapy, I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my family, tennis, watercolour painting, yoga and early morning ocean swims.
